Scotia Entertainment was founded in 2002 by Terry Holdershaw. When he was thinking about starting up his own business, a friend of his was thinking about starting up a silk screening company so they made a bet to start their companies on the same day and see who was most successful after the first year. Over 10 years later Scotia Entertainment is going stronger than ever and unfortunately the silk screening company didn’t last much longer than the first year.

Terry grew up on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Throughout high school he played guitar and saxophone in several bands. He also had an interest in live sound, event production and DJ’d the school radio, school events and house parties. Terry moved to Toronto in 2001 to further his education and pursue his dream of working in the entertainment industry. He graduated from the Audio Engineering Technology program at Trebas Institute. Since founding Scotia Entertainment, Terry has gained extensive technical and performance skills working in the Entertainment, Events and Audio-Visual industry. He has had the opportunity to travel and perform at over a thousand weddings and events across Canada.

The Scotia Entertainment team provides a personal experience from the planning through the execution of your wedding, event or party. We specialize in modern beat-mixing DJs that mix a seamless flow of great music that you and your guests want to hear. We will incorporate you and your guests music requests and do not play songs. Our equipment is professional, industry standard and in excellent condition. We pride ourselves on clean and tidy equipment setups and appearance.

Scotia Entertainment Services are in good standing memberships with the Canadian Professional DJ Association, Mississauga Board of Trade as well as the Oakville Chamber of Commerce. Our music library is AVLA licensed and we carry $2 Million liability insurance.
